Passion

Normally I don't use this blog to talk about myself, mostly it is for expressing my ideas on things that no one really wants to know about. However, today I am making an exception. It seems that more then normal people have been questioning what I am passionate for. So I decided that I would just put it out there. Now if you wanted to know but haven't been able to ask you can just read about it. Currently I keep coming back to 3 things that I care most about but my mind is always changing, because I don't want to become stale. I want to keep learning and experiencing things.

1st: Camp Adventure

I love what CA has made me. Camp has been in my live since I was 8. It has seen me through the good and bad years in my life and I see the good that it can do for other people. I choose to invest my time because I believe that kids can and will change things and I want to help that happens. It is not only the love I find working there but also the staff. The CA staff members are probably one of my favorite groups of people. They are upstanding people and I know that they are always going to be around for me.

2nd: Loving on People

People are a big deal to me. Jesus called us to love and that is just what I am trying to do. I want to love those that it is hard for me to love. I want to help those that can't help themselves. I want to experience live with people like those in Mission Year and make people aware of issues with life changing films just as The Sold Project has done.

3rd: Last but not least my newest Love

While I have not been passionate about this for very long it has already hooked me. The Taylor Theater has become my newest passion (thanks Ryan). I love it and what it has done to me. I have only been working there since J-term Brake and it has already done so much for me. It is the theater that has reminded me about all the things I am passionate about. It has helped to find who I am again and has given me away of artistic outlet. Even when I am stressed beyond every fiber of my being I am loving it. The family that I have obtained since working makes me realize all the more that I fit when I am there. They understand what I struggle with and are willing to do what they can to help.

Now don't worry if you just finished reading this and go "Oh great now she has turned this into every other blog...LAME" You can rest easy because most likely this will be the last of this type of blog for awhile. I just thought some of those things needed to be said.

I also highly encourage you to check out The Sold Project and Mission Year if you haven't heard of them. They are doing fantastic work to open the words of God. They care about people and want you to see that.

Oh Ira

One of my favorite people on the planet is Ira Flatow. Ira Flatow is just one of those people that make Fridays so much better then any other day of the week. Now I know what most of you are thinking "Who the heck is Ira Flatow?" Well Ira is a radio journalist for NPR (national public radio) and every Friday he hosts Science Friday. I love Science Friday! For some reason it just make me happier. Basically it is a call in talk show with subjects ranging from Nobel prize winners to the human language and its use of the f word. I highly recommend SciFri to anyone. It is a great show and you never really know what is going to happen. Ira Flatow just makes it all the more better!

The Human Body

The Magic School Bus has screwed up my perception of the human body. Ever since watching the episode when the kids get to travel through the mouth, down the throat, past the stomach and into the intestines, the way I view the human body has been skewed. I feel like everything just travels so fast when in reality it is pretty slow. For example, when you drink a glass of water and then instantly you have to pee. It doesn't work that fast yet we believe that to be the case.

Now I know what you may be thinking, "but Esther at the end of the episode they told you it didn't work that fast." Well to that I say, "Really, who actually pays attention to the kids that call in?"

If you have never seen the video before click above on "The human body" to see what I mean!

The What The Heck Moments In Life...

The store you are about to read is real. The names of the people involved are not mentioned to hide the girls from embracement.

Tonight I was walking back to English from the DC after dinner when I noticed a short ways ahead of me two girls laughing and throwing snowballs at each other. It got slightly carried away when one girl pushed the other girl into a large snow pile. When the girl fell into the snow the other ran away while both still remained laughing. The girl in the snow quickly got up and chased after her "pusher" and thats when it happened. To stop the girl from running to far away the girl covered in snow pulled out her phone and chucked it. It ended up hitting the other girl square in the back of the head. they both fall to the ground cracking up. After a brief moment the sigh and then the girl how got hit says, "wait was that your phone?"

A cellphone, really? Is that all that she could thing to throw?

The Perks of Being a Wallflower

This is a good way to sum up today:

"So this is my life. And I want you to know that I am both happy and sad and I'm still trying to figure out how that could be."

Pull Them Up

What is the appeal with songs about pants? People love pant songs! I just don't get it. Pants are pants. What makes them so funny? Disney Channel even jumped on the pants fad with this video:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WMxs0EZrFfI

Up until the other day this was my very narrow minded ideas about pants and songs about them. That was until this man:

I don't know why but I find him awesome! It could be that he is old and doing the splits or maybe that he speaks the truth.
We need to pull are pants up!

Arrested Development or Flight of the Concords

My two favorite TV shows of all time are Arrested Development and Flight of the Concords. Today someone told me that I had to pick a favorite and I couldn't do it. I love them both but I feel like one has to be superior to the other. I just can't do it thou, so what is the only way to solve this? Thats right, you guessed it. A pro and con list!

Flight of the Concords

Pros:
It is full of awesome songs.
Who doesn't love men from New Zealand?
Dave
LCD
I own all of the seasons on DVD
Soundtrack!

Cons:
Season 2 wasn't that good
They only made two seasons
It was on HBO so I could never watch it on TV
Mel creeps me out

Arrested Development

Pros:
Michael Cera
Im always game for a magic trick
Im glad to know there are other screwy families
Every situation is more awkward then the next
I can watch it on Hulu
Hey Brother
Annyong
So not PC but thats ok
Prison life

Cons:
Season 2 wasn't very good
The plot line is slightly repetitive
Kitty?

Well after close look at each list it looks like I have a favorite show. I am now embracing it, Arrested Development or bust!

Sometimes I wish I was as cool as MacGyver

Who wouldn't want to be as cool as MacGyver? Let's face it he is awesome. He is a laid back secret agent who refuses to use a gun. No problem is to big that it can't be solved using only his Swiss Army Knife and a role of Duct tape. He is a non violent, glass half full kind of a guy and I didn't realize just how great he was until this past Christmas break. For Christmas my brother got the last season of his show and up until then I didn't realize that is slightly possible that he might be cooler then Jason Born and Jack Bauer. I mean this guy is way more creative and has all the hook-ups. He even knows a family of Bounty Hunters. Oh, and who could forget that hair! Macgyver has one of the best mullets around, you can't help but love it. Wither it is defusing a bomb with a toothbrush or eating some ice cream MacGyver is slowly moving his way up to my favorite TV heros.
